Welcome to Seasons Art Class! Let's Create Together 🎨
We're so excited to have you join our creative community! These terms are here to make sure everything runs smoothly for everyone. We've kept them simple and friendly—just like our classes.
💰 Payment Made Easy
When do I pay?
Your course fee is due before your first class. Pay your $99 deposit to reserve your spot, then we'll work out the rest together.
Can I pay in instalments?
Absolutely! We know art should be accessible to everyone. Chat with us about a payment plan that fits your budget—we're here to help, not create stress.
What if I'm running late with payment?
Life gets busy, we understand! If you've arranged to start class before full payment, just settle up within seven days. After that, there's a small $20 late fee to cover our admin. This is up to my discretion.
What about public holidays?
Don't worry—you won't miss out! We'll add a make-up class at the end of term for any sessions that fall on public holidays.
🔄 Life Happens—Cancellations & Changes
We get it—plans change. Here's how we handle it:
Need to cancel before starting?
-
More than 14 days before: Get your money back! We'll deduct a $40 admin fee and any bank/credit card charges (those go to the payment providers, not us)
-
Less than a week before: We can refund you if we find someone from our waiting list to take your spot less the admin fee.
Already started but need to leave?
We'll consider refunds on a case-by-case basis. There will be a $20 admin fee plus any transaction costs.
Can I move to a different term?
Usually we can't transfer fees between terms, but talk to us—we'll do our best to find a solution, especially if circumstances are challenging.
What if YOU need to cancel a class?
Sometimes tutors get sick or venues have issues—it's rare, but it happens. We'll reschedule as soon as we can. Your class is still yours; we're just moving the date.
I'm going to miss a class—can I make it up?
Give us at least a week's notice and we'll try to slot you into another class that same week if there's room. We can't promise it's always possible (especially when classes are full), but we'll do our very best as a thank-you for letting us know early.
What if I get really sick?
Your spot stays reserved, and fees are still due (we've held that easel just for you!). But if serious illness or injury means you truly can't attend the whole term, let's talk—we may be able to move you to the next course.
How do I request a change?
Just email us! We'll confirm we got your message within 48 hours. If you don't hear back, check your spam folder or give us a ring.
What if Seasons closes?
If we ever have to close or can't run your course, you'll get a full refund for any classes that haven't happened yet (minus those pesky bank fees).
👕 What Should I Wear?
Anything comfortable! Old jeans, comfy clothes you don't mind getting a little painty—we provide aprons, but accidents happen. We love the creative mess, but we can't replace your favorite shirt, so dress accordingly!
🏥 Staying Safe & Healthy
Our promise
We've created a safe, welcoming space where you can relax and create. Our tutors are qualified and experienced in keeping everyone safe while having fun.
Please tell us
Let your tutor know about any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries before class starts. We want to support you properly! We have a first-aid kit on hand, but tutors can't give out medication.
Your belongings
Please keep valuables secure. While we watch out for each other, we can't be responsible for lost or forgotten items.
📅 Class Essentials
Arrive ready to create
Coming on time means you won't miss any of the magic—and your fellow artists will be waiting to see you!
Show up regularly
The more classes you attend, the more you'll amaze yourself with your progress. Plus, we'll miss you if you're not there!
Minimum class size
We need at least 12 wonderful people like you to run a class. If numbers are low, we might need to reschedule—but we'll always find a way to get you painting.
Be kind
This is a happy, supportive space. Treat everyone—tutors and fellow students—with respect and kindness. If someone creates an unsafe environment or repeatedly disrupts our creative flow, we may need to ask them to leave (without a refund).
📸 Sharing the Joy
Class photos
We love celebrating your progress! Occasionally we take group photos for our website and social media to show the world how amazing our students are. By joining, you're saying it's okay for us to share these happy moments.
Don't want to be in photos?
No problem! Just tell your tutor on day one and we'll make sure you're not in any shots.
Teaching materials
Our teaching methods and materials are our creative property, so please don't photograph or copy them. Focus on creating your own masterpieces instead!
💬 We're Here to Listen
Something not quite right?
Please tell us! We genuinely want to make things better. Email artclass@artinthebay.com and we promise to respond quickly and work toward a solution that feels fair.
🤝 Creating a Positive Space Together
Our classes thrive on mutual respect and encouragement. We simply ask that you:
🎨 Be kind to everyone—tutors, helpers, and fellow artists
🎨 Follow your tutor's guidance (they're here to help you shine!)
🎨 Keep the atmosphere positive and supportive
🎨 Leave anything harmful or illegal at home
Anyone who can't meet these basic standards may need to leave without a refund—but honestly, that never happens because our students are wonderful!
🎁 Won Your Spot? Lucky You!
If you won your place through a raffle, competition, or charity event:
-
Redeem it with us here at Seasons Art Class Hawke's Bay
-
It's your prize—you can't swap it for cash or transfer it
-
All the same happy terms apply to you
📋 Sometimes Things Change
While we do everything possible to run courses exactly as advertised, occasionally we need to adjust schedules, content, or structure (usually due to enrolment numbers). If this happens, we promise to maintain the quality and value of your experience—you'll still create beautiful art and have a wonderful time.
⚖️ Your Rights Are Protected
We follow New Zealand consumer law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986. Your consumer rights under these laws are not affected by these terms.
